Ok... the advanced view of charityengine has confused me.
What does the "tasks" bar indicate? Is that the processes being worked on by charityengine as a whole, or just the ones on my computer? What is the difference between "projects" and "tasks"? Nothing appears under "transfers" for me, is that normal? What is a transfer?
Transfers show what files for the tasks for each project are currently being requested from the servers. This would include: the starting conditions for a program, the program code, and/or other components needed for the tasks to run on the computer.
There is periodic activity in the transfers tab, but it is typically empty.

Hi Arthur,
Task bars refer to your PC. Tasks are the individual 'work units' from a project. Yes, that's normal (no transfers).
Cheers,
Mark
PS. Apologies for the delay in replying - thought we had!
Just to add to Mark's post:

"Tasks" these are the current tasks or work your computer is working on or is ready to work on
"Projects" where the Tasks come from such as Charity Engine and Eistein@home
there are loads or projects such as Seti@home and World Community Grid
"Transfers" This is blank most of the time but its where your computer downloads and uploads information and complete tasks to and from the Projects
Just thought id stick everything in 1 post in a simple form
