Just started up CE, and avast decided I needed to be warned about every single file it tried to download. Don't know whether you can lean on them to add you to some kind of white-list, but it's quite infuriating.
I'm pretty sure in your software there must be an ignore feature where you can specify the antivirus to stop looking at the files being downloaded by Charity engine.
Other possible solution: Change antivirus software.
Yup, we did ask, and thought they'd whitelisted everything. We'll submit them again.
AV software tends to have a lot of false positives because a) it's safer to be over-cautious and b) it's looks more impressive; like the software is doing a good job - and is actually needed.
As Jo says; just tell it to ignore the CE stuff. It is, of course, perfectly safe - like anything else sent to a BOINC installation. Thanks for letting us know.
