I just downloaded charityengine today (I already have worldcommunitygrid) and it is not giving me any tasks. They both show up under projects, and it seemed to connect okay, but charityengine has done no work--all tasks running are from worldcommunity grid. Any ideas?

Welcome aboard Charity Engine!
Maybe you should tell boinc to not receive any new task for WCG and see if you get work from CE once your task list is empty.
What OS are you running ? Linux/Windows/Mac OSX
What are your system specs?
Please copy and paste your boinc event log here. to access it, open boinc manager and in the advanced menu you should see it there.

Mac OSX Mavericks on a MacBook Pro '10.
Trying the not receiving any new tasks part, but won't be able to see if it works until the current ones finish. Here is a portion of the log:

Unfortunately, none of the CE commercial apps (presently CE3 and CE5) have work for Mac at the moment.
