Rosetta has been retired for the time being. Our grid is too big now for any one project, we just overload them.
We are aware of this and are testing other projects which can use the surplus capacity, they will be introduced soon. They have to be super-stable though, as we cannot risk upsetting our users. They are mostly not techie, not BOINC users, and will not tolerate any PC issues.
The only project I'm seeing now is "PrimeGrid" whose primary goal is: to bring the excitement of prime finding to the "everyday" computer user. Like .. how useful is that?
So I'd really like to see a couple of other projects which will work on machines with lower-capability video-cards.
WCG is one of the most stable projects (backed by IBM) and is most likely the most secure projects out there. It does not use GPU's currently but can certainly handle heavy loads. It also supports humanitarian causes which is a huge draw.
yes world community grid is an excelent project, however it does need more topics !
perhapse we can allias with the charities and get special discrete tasks from them like server optimization or php optimizing or other tasks that generally work well like analysing rainforest photos for forest fires ! for WWF or distribution patterns for food aid programs....
special charity grid tasks, not simply another boinc project....
Hi,
Nowadays I'm running out of Rosetta WUs and my PC barely use its full potential. Do you know anything about it? Is it a planned issue or not?
Thanks!
Adam
Yeah, same story. Perhaps we need some new projects?
In the last couple of weeks my stats have been halved so I am not quite sure what's happening, either.

I wonder of The World Community Grid could somehow interface or use Our computing horsepower...
I have it running on Our Cell Phones and right now the phones are working on both Zika and Ebola projects...
Just a thought....
