Rosetta URL

I keep getting notices that say:

"This project is using an old URL. When convenient, remove the project, then add https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/"

Is this something that I need to do (how?), or will it be fixed at the CE end?

Thanks Graham!

I was just about to Create a topic on this very subject and You beat Me to it!!

I have tried to do as the message suggests and No Joy...

Not sure what to do next.

Regards,  Doc

The changes have to be made on the Charity Engine server side of things. It's something of a complicated fix, for security reasons; and also a good thing that it is not so simple. (No one can just break into the server and change the URLs of projects that your computers attach to)!

Thanks Tristan. Will you be doing that fix sometime in the next few days?

Yes, this is a high priority. It requires some collaborative effort, so we're working through it.

I appreciate your expectation, Doc!

The changes are now in place that should automatically detach Rosetta on the next synchronization with Charity Engine and then reattach about a minute later. Of course, you can expedite this greatly by manually using the Tools -> Synchronize with Charity Engine option in your CE desktop software.

Thanks to both of you for your patience as we worked through the details, got delayed, and so forth. If you have any continued problems with Rosetta, please post back as soon as you can.

And as it happened, Rosetta had an SSL certificate issue the very next day (a certificate higher up in the trust chain expired). They have made changes to resolve this, but I'm interested in knowing whether it worked for either of you, or if you are seeing a "peer certificate" error still.

I can't remove and reinstall the Rosetta project, because the "remove" menu is inactive

That notification is from yesterday, so it's possible that it is already fixed. You can check this in the desktop software:

  1. Access the "advanced view", if not already using it (press Ctrl+Shift+A or use the View menu to access the advanced view).
  2. Select the Projects tab.
  3. Click on Rosetta@home.
  4. Click the Properties button, found on the left side.

This will pop up a window with the settings for Rosetta. The URL that it is using is right up at the top. If that begins with "https://", then you're in good shape. If it's still set to "http://", then we'll have to investigate further.

I'm always on "advanced view" ).   I'll try it again tomorrow.

Hi Doc.  I see you were discussing this same topic with Tristan (also with log posting) in another thread, Can't Connect.  And also see an extensive log from you posted (same day as this one) in a third thread (*now deleted; your content copied into "Can't Connect")

So I'll copy the above logs sample also to Can't Connect; and suggest we continue in that context, as it's hard to discuss a topic like this in shards (and the issue seems off-topic in this thread).
