This should not get in the way of credit being awarded. There was an issue in setting the user name for the account, possibly related to the issue that was causing the "Invalid account key" error. It's more of a cosmetic issue than functional, but definitely something to fix on our end.
More to come on this later! Thanks again for working through it with us.
Credits are being granted by WCG, so that confirms functionality is not an issue (you can verify in the client and should see a corresponding uptick in credit here overnight).
We're working with WCG to determine why the user name is missing.
I'm not convinced that WCG credits are being applied. I can see in my Statistics view that WCG work is being done, but the "More Stats" view on the web page shows that no work has been done for several days.
You're onto something, Graham. The credits are being counted at WCG, but it looks like they're being excluded from the stats export, which means we don't see them here. I think I know why this is happening, so I'll try for a fix today and then we should see stats showing up in a day or two.
Fixing the issue requires some help on the WCG side of things, as there's a hangup in the API for granting user consent for exporting stats. It's looking like it won't be in time for this drawing, but we'll see if it can fall into place quickly enough.
I seems like the WCG credits still not being applied to our account statistics, and this somewhat diminishes the participation incentives for those of us with limited machine resources.
Tristan, how did you get on? I recently acquired a more powerful machine, and it's doing a lot of WCG tasks .. with no apparent credits being applied :(
Not meaning to leave you hanging here, Graham. This has been escalating and we're coming to a point of decision on what we will do on our end; I'd expect this week. We have to weight the possible solutions if using the API is not going to be an option in the near term.
We have an update on this: WCG has been transitioning ownership to Krembil Research Institute since the beginning of the year. This prevented them from making changes to their API and also from knowing or disclosing how long it could take. Now that this announcement is public, we have word that they are releasing an overhaul to their website and it looks like we can expect the API fix to be added to the tail of that. There is a new team involved, but if the transition goes smoothly, it shouldn't be a problem to work this little bug fix out.
It seems that transitioning has now been completed. Can we now get the missing WCG credits applied to our accounts, then perhaps start processing WCG tasks again?
Have you seen an announcement from them? Today their website is down, so I can't even check for news. Last I heard they were still dealing with work generation issues.
For us, their transition is the first step. Next, we ask them to address the functionality missing in their API so that consent can be granted for a user's stats to be exported. If they do that, we'll be in good shape. This is a very minor update compared to what they have been doing, but still requires some breathing room on their end, so I'm curious if it seems they might have some! (Their website being down is not a good indicator, though).
Hi,
The WCG is attached to my PC, but it says "Invalid or missing account key. To fix, remove and add this project ."
I synced the CharityEngine, but it didn't solve the problem.
A bug has been fixed in the routine for registering with WCG and your account has been set to retry on the next sync.
It downloaded some tasks but the account is still empty. Is that okay?

Great, thanks for the info.

The lost points going to count in the upcomming draw?

Thanks Tristan. I look forward to testing it!
Any progress with this yet?
Nothing to report so far, I'm sorry to say. I've checked in with WCG to see if there's anything we can do to help.

Can you please revisit this issue?
Checking in again -- thanks for bringing this back up, Graham.

Tristan, have you been able to get this working. My machines are doing lots of WCG work, and I'm getting no points for any of it :(

Still not working; just saying .. :)

Another month has passed (almost). Can we take a look at the missing WCG credits issue again please.

And yet another month has passed. What's the story Tristan??
